Karlsruhe is the old residence of the Dukes of Baden, located between the river Rhine and the foothills of the Black Forest right in the centre of Europe. Well known places like Heidelberg, Freiburg or Strasbourg are at close distance.

The Symposium will take place at the Universität Karlsruhe (TH), which is the oldest Technical University in Germany, founded in 1825. The campus (map) is located in the city centre just adjacent to the castle and the main shopping area.
